DREAM INTO THE VOID

REVEAL SUCCESS

Proclaim your fate or seal your fortune

DREAM INTO THE VOID is a tarot based card game system for 1 to 6 players that offers divination through a dream via strategic sequencing and puzzle solving.

Complete your VISION BRIDGE before your opponent

(((either through ascension)))

or

(((perseverance)))

and you will find yourself a winner.

The goal of this game is to reveal 21 before your opponent does.

Or be the Last Player to Implode

Be careful not to bust, or you’ll be out of the game.

Build your VISION BRIDGE by revealing signs, timing spells, and taking action.

Or spend your turn drowning your opponent in sorrow with curses.

The game is played with a traditional 78 card tarot deck, divided into 6 13-card orders of action.

Each action alters the timeline of your vision.

DRAW - Draw a card from your deck

DISCARD - Discard a card from your hand to the discard pile

REVEAL - Reveal a hidden card

RETURN - Return a bridge card or curse to your hand

SACRIFICE - Send a bridge card or curse to the discard pile

EXHUME - Return a card from your discard pile to your VISION BRIDGE

PLAYING DREAM INTO THE VOID

Shuffle the 78 Card Tarot Deck

Know that winning means having a full VISION BRIDGE with all cards revealed, with a total value of 21.

Your value is the total value of revealed cards on your VISION BRIDGE, less the value of curses.

A winning VISION BRIDGE

SETTING UP THE GAME

Divvy out each player three face down cards

This is the VISION BRIDGE

Divvy out each player an additional three face down cards

This is the hand

Divvy out each player an additional seven face down cards

This is the deck

Divvy out each player an additional ZERO face down cards

This is the discard pile

Face down cards are hidden information

A player’s initial game state.

OPENING STATEMENT

Players may now secretly look at their hand.

All players simultaneously reveal a card from their hand.

The lowest value revealed goes first.

Card actions are performed when added to a players VISION BRIDGE. This can be when a card is played from hand, revealed from the hidden cards on the VISION BRIDGE, or exhumed from the discard pile. Cursing a player has the cursed player take the action.

Play goes

Lowest opening statement goes first.

TAKING TURNS

On Your Turn

Secretly lift your hand, revealing to yourself the possible signs to play.

Draw a card from your deck to your hand

Then

Chose one of the following:

PLAY a card from hand to your bridge face up or down

REVEAL a hidden card on your bridge

CURSE an opponent with a card from hand

ASCEND with a card from hand

Then

CLEAN UP

To Clean Up

Discard down to your maximum hand size

Sacrifice cards on your VISION BRIDGE to its maximum length

If you have a clean, fully revealed bridge, revealing a total value of 21, you win

A possible resulting gamestate after a player’s turn. The hand is revealed to the player, the player has drawn a card from their deck, performed actions through gameplay, and cleaned up their hand and bridge by discarding and sacrificing cards down to 3. Although they have revealed a value of 21, they do not have a fully revealed bridge, so they’ve yet to win.

MECHANICS

Actions are performed from hand.

Only when a card is played from hand, either as a curse on another player or a sign to the bridge, is the action taken.

When you curse another player, the action is done by the cursed player.

The keyword actions are:

DRAW ✦ Draw a card from your deck

DISCARD ✦ Discard a card from your hand to the discard pile

REVEAL ✦ Reveal a bridge card

RETURN ✦ Return a card from your bridge or curses to your hand

SACRIFICE ✦ Place a card from your bridge or curses into your discard pile

EXHUME ✦ Return a card from your Discard Pile to your Bridge

When a player is cursed, they perform the curse’s action.

A player may only carry two curses at any given time.

Should a player be cursed with two curses already, they cannot be cursed again.

If a player ever has a clean, full bridge revealing a value greater than 21, they implode and lose the game.

If a player would draw from an empty deck, the game is called and the player with the highest score wins.

Remember… Turns go clockwise

An example of a fully cursed player. Curses are played sideways to remind players to subtract curse values from their total score. A player cannot be cursed again if they have two curses.

CLARIFICATIONS

Your maximum hand size and bridge size is determined by your level.

When you begin the game, you are at base level. (((THE GROUND FLOOR)))

Your maximum bridge and hand size are 3 cards

when you have a full bridge, you may ascend

When you ascend, you reduce your maximum hand and bridge size by 1.

after the ground floor, your maximum bridge and hand size are 2 (((THE NEXT LEVEL)))

after the next level, your maximum bridge and hand size are 1 (((THE FINAL FLOOR)))

Should you clear a bridge, you may choose to ascend again on your next turn or stay on your new floor

This means,

On the ground floor, you need three cards (less curses) to total 21 to win,

on the next level, you need 2 cards (less curses) to total 21 to win

and on the final floor, you need 1 card (less curses) to total 21 to win

An example of a player who has ascended to the FINAL LEVEL. Their maximum VISION BRIDGE and hand size are 1. This player has won the game as they have a fully revealed VISION BRIDGE with a total value of 21.

CONSIDERATIONS

If there is a tied score when determining who goes first, or who wins when a game is called, the tied players reveal another card on their bridge

If there is still a tie, each player reveals another card

If there is still a tie, the player with the lowest score goes first

If there is still a tie, the tied players win.

The revealed signs and curses you’ve collected by game’s end are your tarot fortune.

The VISION BRIDGE is a blessing and the curses are curses.
