Green New Deal Year 1
Trump is on his way out of office, and it's finally time to look ahead to the future we're fighting for. 2021 is our time to start making the Green New Deal a reality. Biden won this election because our generation threw down, and now his time is ours. From the moment he steps into office, we need to be ready to demand that Biden take swift, bold action on climate. And if we do that, we could have some seriously big wins -- from transformative executive actions, to an Office of Climate Mobilization that can ensure we begin the decade of the Green New Deal in Biden's first 100 days. But he'll only do that if Sunrise and our allied movements make him.
We're using this last month of 2020 to build our skills and share our strategy for launching a Green New Deal in 2021. In this training series, we will:
Get grounded in the brand new political moment we're in now that Trump is on his way out
Look at what history shows us about how movements can create big change even under divided government - from the New Deal to the Obama era
Map out how we could launch a Green New Deal in 2021 under Biden, and the role our movement needs to play in making that happen
Build the skills you'll need to help put our strategy into action
